On Monday we put some milk in a saucer and dropped some food colouring on top then we carefully touched the milk with a drop of dish wash liquid. We were amazed at what happened!

At the end of last week we were super lucky and had Xavier come at teach us some soccer skills. We practised our kicking and played some fun games.

We made noodle nests for the letter of the week. We mixed melted chocolate and crispy noodles together. We used jaffas for the eggs in the nest. It was lovely to have Helena’s mum help us make our nests.

We have been busy learning about greeting each other in Te Reo. Each morning we sing a greeting song then turn and greet each other. It's been awesome to see everyone's confidence grow and knowing which greeting to use depending on the number of people we are greeting. Here we are showing our learning of greetings on paper.

Hut Building - Part 2

Today we continued our hut building. 

This time we made little models using a HOT GLUE GUN and ice cream sticks. 

It was great fun!

Hut Building

We have been doing all sorts of building challenges lately. Today we worked together to make a hut out of newspaper tubes.

We showed an interest in fishing. On Friday we made our own fishing rods and attached a magnet to be a hook. We then used them to practise fishing up fish and magnetic numbers.

This week we made dinosaurs. We gave our dinosaur a name, described what they looked like, what they eat and where they live. During writing time we wrote about them. Come and see our dinosaurs and stories in Room 3.

Today for STEAM we made muffins and two different Helicopters. We had lots of fun. We talked about which helicopter was the best and why. Xenia thought her pig one was the best because it goes fast. Xavier thought the one that went slower was the best. We talked about how a slower helicopter might be better because it might not crash.

Last week we made rice bubble crackles during STEAM. After lunch we ate one, drank our milk and watched 'We are going on a Bear Hunt' what an awesome way to end the week.

Look at our cool insects we made. We also acted out the story of a bee going looking for flowers and leading the bees to the flowers they discovered. What a lot of fun we had!

This week we had a go at creating a painting using marbles. We put our paper in the bottom of a tray then we dipped marbles in paint and rolled them around. We also made a hacky sack to use on the turf. We worked with a buddy to make a ball of rice in gladwrap and put inside a balloon. We had lots of fun!

We tried to draw the other half of our photo using pencil. 

It was hard but we did it!

Leanne helped us by making picture frames with ice-block sticks.
